“I have to be honest, I had not heard of a doula before becoming pregnant. My midwife suggested it to me as I was a little anxious with the whole "giving birth" process! I wasn't sure if adding a stranger to the mix was going to help with any of this, however after meeting Cara my husband and I knew it was a step in the right direction. Cara will support and provide you with as much information as you need to make the right decisions for you and your baby. There is never any pressure or opinions offered to take a certain direction. All decisions are yours and she will support you. On the actual day, Cara was amazing and my husband was appreciative of the extra support (and spare pair of hands)! Cara brings a lovely calm manner to situations and was readily available to offer advice when requested. It was also nice to know that someone is ensuring, where possible, that your birth preferences are being followed, as in the moment it really is the last thing you are thinking about!
